Election Day Tues., November 8, 2016 - No School (Offices and Calvary Club Closed)

Election Day Tuesday, November 8, 2016 No School, Office  and Calvary Club Closed Dear Calvary Lutheran School Families, I was just notified that Calvary Lutheran Church and School has been selected as a polling place for our upcoming Tuesday, November 8, 2016 elections. In lieu of this recent development and for the overall protection and safety of our students, we will be closed this day.  This includes our preschool and Calvary Club (before and after school) programs. It is important to recognize that our chief responsibility apart from the education of our students, is to maintain their safety and protection.  Due to the vast number of people expected to be on site, and cars parking in the parking lot, we have determined we will be closed.  I thank you for your cooperation and support at this time. WOW! Trunk or Treat was GREAT!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all who participated in Trunk or Treat today!   Rain didn't diminish a great time and excellent turnout!   It was a great first step!  Can't wait for next year!   Our teachers proved their creativity by taking home the Prizes!  Our Kindergarten teacher, April Wells, and her husband Dave took home Best Costumes in the over 18 category!  And, keeping it all in the family, their son Clayton won for his I AM SAM costume in the under 18.   Taking home the BEST DESIGN prize was our Second grade teacher, Annie Wilson, and her husband Kyle with their Wreck It Ralph themed design.  It was a close race with the Jumping Spider only 1 vote behind!    I wanted to especially thank ALL the people who put together a Table or Trunk!     This event brought visitors to Worship and to the School!  It truly was a 'community event'!  Special Thanks go out to Maren and Karla for all their help in staging and promoting this event!

Calvary Lutheran Church

Sad/Happy News  Yesterday we received news that Missionary to Ghana, Mike Squires, passed away. All we know at this time is that he fell ill in the village he was serving.  They transported him to a better medical facility where he passed away. The news is Sad because of ours and the people of Ghana's loss.  The news is Happy because Mike has gone to be with his Savior, while doing the work he loved.   We will give you more information when it becomes available.
