Calvary Lutheran School Important Message from Dr. Chivalette  Monday, February 1, 2016     Dear CLS Parent and Friends,        February 5th is fast approaching and it is important that all current CLS families need to register their children for the 2016-17 school year by Friday in order to "lock-in" at their present tuition rate.        The current school year is going very well, and I believe that we are moving in the right direction with God's favor and blessing.  The following are some important reminders of what you can anticipate for the coming 2016-17 year:  The elementary will be comprised of K-5th grades.  Grades four and five will next year, become self-contained with their own classroom instructor for all core subjects, I am presently beginning the process to find the right classroom teachers in grades 4 and 5 with the realization that the following positions have been solidified for next year:            Preschool - Mrs. Heggins           Kindergarten - Mrs. Kintner           First grade - Mrs. Smith           Second grade - Mrs. Wilson           Third grade - Miss Grace The middle school will be comprised of grades 6-8.  We are currently looking for a 6th through 8th grade Math and Science teacher. Calvary Lutheran School will be changing its name as DBA (doing business as) Calvary Christian School.  A congregation vote will be done on February 21 to affirm the new name, New LED lights will be placed in the new fourth, fifth, and existing middle school classrooms over the course of the summer. Classrooms for grades 4 and 5 have been selected which will require cleaning, renovation, and painting to make them a bright and inviting learning atmosphere. Beautification Day (Sat., Jan. 30) and Open House (Feb. 5), 2016

All Hands On Deck!    ~ Rain or Shine ~    School Beautification Day   TOMORROW Saturday, January 30, 2016

Dear CLC and CLS - Family and Friends, In preparation for our upcoming Open House, we will be having a clean-up party this Saturday, January 30, 2016 (Rain or Shine), starting at 9:00 a.m., until work is complete. This is a joint venture.  We are hoping that you will be able to come and join us while we all help and spruce up our school, church grounds and classrooms. If everyone shows up and does their part, then we can all go home about 12 noon. We couldn't help but notice that many of you are missing PPP (Parent Participation Program) hours, especially those on tuition assistance, so this would be a great opportunity plug those hours away and help!  If you have any additional rags at home, please do not forget to bring them with you!  Coffee and Donuts will be served in the morning.

We will need people to help wipe desks and seats in all classrooms, clean       and polish white boards, wash windows (inside and out), replace any burnt      out lights in all classrooms and wash covers, wash tables in the court yard,       sweep walkways and much more.

OPEN HOUSE      Friday, February 5, 2016 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Plan to join all CLS family and friends and celebrate our student scholars... that's  YOUR child and their many achievements. Bring your family and a friend or two who might be interested in Calvary and we'll give them the tour.  Everyone can tour the campus, visit all the classrooms, say hi to the teachers, see your child's classroom, see what they have been studying, and enjoy some refreshments! Do not forget the family referral discount. If your family or friend's student enrolls and attends Calvary, both of you will receive a tuition discount for the month. An additional way to earn PPP Hours is to donate a batch of cookies or brownies to the school. Please contact the school secretary and let her know what you will be bringing at (510) 278-2598.
